Mr. Samuel Elious Lovelace, age 94, of Buchanan, formerly of Fairfax, Alabama passed away Thursday, April 14, 2005. Mr. Lovelace was born in Chambers County, Alabama on September 9, 1910. He was the son of the late Luther Lovelace and the late Carrie Landrum Lovelace. Mr. Lovelace was a retired weaver of West Point Mfg. Co. He was a member of Fairfax Baptist Church, Valley, Alabama. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Virgil Lovelace and O’Neal Lovelace; and sister, Mattie B. Arnett.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Doris Smith Lovelace of Buchanan; one daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Melvin Reeves of Buchanan; grandchildren, Brent Reeves and wife Melodye of Orting, WA, Barbara Pruitt and husband Ricky of Buchanan; six great grandchildren, Brittany Pruitt, Sarah Beth Pruitt, Amanda Reeves, Lauren Reeves, Natalie Reeves, and Joshua Reeves; one sister, Doris Lee Greene.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 18, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. from the Fairfax Baptist Church with Rev. Brent Reeves, Melvin Reeves, and Rev. Steve York officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairfax Cemetery, Valley, Alabama.
Johnson-Brown Service Funeral Home, Fairfax, AL and Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
