Edith C. Bane, 98, Gallipolis, passed away May 3, 2005 at Scenic Hills Nursing Center, Bidwell. Born September 4, 1906, she was the daughter of the late John L. and Lavada Thornton Clark.
She was a graduate of Rio Grande High School and attended Rio Grande College. She had taught elementary school in the Gallia County Schools and the Hocking County Schools. She was a member of Baily Chapel Church where she had taught the Adult Bible classes for many years.
Edith married John Bane, May 9, 1929, in Rio Grande, Ohio, and lived on the Bane Family Farm for seventy-one years. John preceded her in death November 13, 2000.
She is survived by:
One son: John Robert “Bob” Bane, Washington C.H., Ohio
One daughter: Bonita (Duane) Westerberg, Grayslake, IL
Three Grandchildren: Eric, David (Lisa) Westerberg and Daniel Westerberg
Two Great-Grandchildren: Jenna and John Westerberg
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers:
John L. And Judson Clark
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, 420 First Ave., Gallipolis. Burial will follow in St. Nick Cemetery.
