1949 - 2005

John "Johnny" Russell, 55, Vinton, passed away in Holzer Medical Center, Thursday, May 12, 2005. He was born June 3, 1949, in West Columbia, WV, son of the late Eddie J. Russell and Mable E. Russell. In addition he was preceded in death by two sisters: Sally Ann Brater and Joan Culverest.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and a former employee of PCM E-Systems Maintenance of Alvasta, VA.

He married Darlena Lively June 4, 1997, Cattlettsburg, KY, and she survives.

Also surviving are four children: Adam Russell, Jamie Russell, Eric Russell, Gallipolis, Ohio and Jeremiah Russell, Vinton, Ohio; a granddaughter, Hallie Russell; Two brothers and one sister: Jack E. Russell, Ravenna, OH; Bill Russell, Spokane, WA; Mary Russell, Gallipolis, OH.

A very special thanks to Janice and Don Mitchell, Vinton, and to Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law, Sonny and Donna Adkins, Vinton, Ohio. Thank you for your prayers and for being there for us in our time of need and for being so supportive. We love you.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M., Monday, in the Harvest Time Worship Center, Main Street, Vinton, with Rev. David Marcum officiating, and assisted by Roy See. Burial will be in the Morgan Center Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by the Vinton AMerican Legion Post 161.

Friends may call at the Harvest Time Worship Center on Monday, 11:00-1:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Memorial Gifts be sent to the John Russell Memorial Fund, c/o McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, PO Box 148, Vinton, Ohio 45686.
