Mr. John Wayne Smith, age 71, of Fayetteville passed away Thursday, June 23, 2005. Mr. Smith was born in Haralson County on January 10, 1934. He was the son of the late V.O. Smith and the late Margie Smith. Mr. Smith was a retired union electrician.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Ann McGourik Smith of Fayetteville; one daughter, Christine Strength of Carrollton; two sons, Nathan W. Smith of Fayetteville and Jerrel W. Smith of Ellijay; two brothers, Jimmy Smith of Buchanan and Jerry Smith of Houston, TX; one grandchild; one great grandchild; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Graveside Saturday, June 25, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at the Buchanan City Cemetery with Rev. Buddy Gentry officiating. Interment will follow in the Buchanan City Cemetery.
Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
