Edith Pearl Elliott, 87, of Gallipolis, OH, died Wednesday, July 27, 2005, at Holzer Medical Center. She was born August 2, 1917, in Pedro, OH, one of eight children born to Andrew and Stella Dempsey Massie.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a faithful member of the First Church of the Nazarene, where she held many positions of service with her church and loved her church family. She loved life and always provided much laughter and fun to those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Morris Elliott, three brothers, four sisters, and one grandson.
She is survived by five children: Eleanor (Harold) Trout, Pataskala, OH; Richard (Joanne) Elliott, Bidwell, OH; James Elliott, Jackson, OH; Larry Elliott, Gallipolis, OH; Mary Lynn (Don) Mega, Huntington, WV; seven grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Friday, July 29, 2005, at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1110 First Avenue, Gallipolis, OH. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 30th, at the church with Pastor Robert Fulton and Pastor Eugene Harmon officiating. Interment will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens.
