1942 - 2005
Mr. Milton G. McCollum, age 62, of 1811 Carrollton-Villa Rica Hwy., Villa Rica passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2005. Mr. McCollum was born in Paulding County on December 6, 1942. He was the son of the late William Gus McCollum and the late Rose Elma McBride McCollum. Mr. McCollum was a retired heavy equipment operator and was a veteran of the United States Navy. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Hoyt McCollum, Billy McCollum, Jimmy McCollum, and Jerry McCollum.
Survivors include one daughter, Pamela Dicks of Lake City, FL; one son, Brian McCollum of Villa Rica; one sister, Mary V. McCollum of Tallapoosa; one grandchild; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 20, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. from Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel with Rev. George Pike and Rev. Todd Wright officiating. Music will be rendered by Harold McWhorter. Interment will follow in the Tallapoosa-East Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: C.W. Boling, Curtis McCormick, Joey McCollum, and Pat Patterson.
Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.

Milton, you will always have a special piece of my heart. You were the biggest supporter of our race team. You always had a smile for everyone. You were my special drag race buddy and my dear friend.
