Ms. Betty Jo Dobbs Chandler, age 61, of 342 H.B. Johnson Circle, Tallapoosa passed away Monday, September 26, 2005. Ms. Chandler was born in Haralson County on September 16, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Cornelious Dobbs and the late Eloise Lee Dobbs. Ms. Chandler was a retired lunch room worker. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Nora Brannon, Nancy Elliott and Peggy Posey; two brothers, Bobby Dobbs and Randy Dobbs.
Survivors include her companion, Royce Chandler of Heflin, AL; one daughter, Donna Smith of Buchanan; one son, Ted Kiser of Bremen; one sister, Sue Redding of Felton; three brothers, Johnny Dobbs of Felton, Charlie Dobbs of Felton and Billy Dobbs of Rockmart; three grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 28, 2005 from Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel with Danny Hutcheson and Richard Brannon officiating. Music will be rendered by Doyle and Mary Nell McWhorter. Interment will follow in the Center Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Bo Cook, Kim Elliott, Richard Brannon, Brent McCollum, Michael Redding, and John Dobbs.
Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
