Mr. Edward Arthur Church, age 78, of 388 Ed Church Rd., Rockmart passed away Monday, October 31, 2005. Mr. Church was born in Gaston County, NC on April 17, 1928. He was the son of the late Arthur Church and the late Georgia Weathington Keene.
Mr. Church was a veteran of the United States Navy. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Church and a son, Aaron Shirley.
Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Brenda Faye and Pat and John T. Bishop of Rockmart; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Lewis Shirley of Rockmart, Larry and Janice Shirley of Marietta, Wesley Shirley of Kennesaw and Ronnie and Debbie Shirley of Jacksonville, FL; four sisters, Helen Wilson, Betty Lambert, Molly Fenlia and Florence Shockley; fourteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 3, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. from the Mountain View Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Barfield and Rev. Jack Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: John Bishop, Jason Bishop, David Shirley, Michael Shirley, Micah Shirley and Robbie Shirley.
Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
