Mrs. Vera Ayers Heath, age 97, of Buchanan passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2005. Mrs. Heath was born in Haralson County on February 16, 1908. She was the daughter of the late Rodrick Ayers and the late Rhoda Jane Fincher Ayers. Mrs. Heath was a member of the Buchanan First Baptist Church. She was retired from the Haralson County School System and Sewell Manufacturing Company. Mrs. Heath was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Heath; two daughters, Barbara Watts and Phyllis Heath; and two sons, Bobby Heath and Billy Heath.
Survivors include one daughter, Joan Sue Heath of Lutz, FL; eight grandchildren, Bobby Heath, Pamela McGinnis, Lisa Johnson, Marisa Rubenstein, Scott Posey, Cyndi Bedingfield, Maria Deynzer, and Claudine Shoulders; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 17, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. from the Buchanan First Baptist Church with Dr. Allen Wilburn and Rev. Buddy Gentry officiating. Music will be rendered by Rev. Buddy Gentry. Interment will follow in the Buchanan City Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Eddie Ayers, Lowell Ayers, Billy Joe Ayers, Bryon McGinnis, Mike McGinnis, and Michael Carroll. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Heath and Jim Cash.
