Mr. Billy O’Neal Leathers, age 68, of 155 Gilley Rd., Buchanan passed away Saturday, February 4, 2006. Mr. Leathers was born in Haralson County on December 22, 1937. He was the son of the late Gordon Lee Leathers and the late Florence Jane Sanders Leathers. Mr. Leathers was a retired tractor operator. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Rachel Leathers; and one brother, Gurtis Odell Leathers.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Ann Gaddy of Canton; one son, Mark O’Neal Leathers of Buchanan; one brother, M.L. Leathers of Bremen; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, February 6, 2006 at 4:00 P.M. from Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Wendell Rush and Rev. Clarence Agan officiating. Music will be rendered by Rev. Buddy Gentry. Interment will follow in the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Hoyal Whitton, Jerry Carroll, Truman Wade, Michael Wade, Steve Wade, and Jack Briscoe. Honorary pallbearers will be: Gene Wade and Hoyt Mosley.
