Rev. Aubrey I. McElhannon, age 65, of Tyus-Carrollton Rd., Carrollton passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2006. Rev. McElhannon was born in Greene County on September 6, 1940. He was the son of the late Rufus McElhannon and the late Mozzelle Turner McElhannon. Rev. McElhannon was a retired minister and school teacher. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Roy and Clarice Brown; and brother-in-law, Roland Brown.
Survivors include his wife, Myra Brown McElhannon of Carrollton; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Stephen Roy McElhannon of Carrollton and Timothy Scott and Kim McElhannon of Chesapeake, VA; three sisters, Geneva Bryson of Siloam, Lois West of Union Point and Brenda Pinkerton of Eatonton; five grandchildren, Stephen Jesse McElhannon, Betsy McElhannon, T.J. McElhannon, Jasper McElhannon, and Travor McElhannon; and a number of other relatives.
Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, February 18, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. from the Tyus Baptist Church with Rev. Justin Richards and Rev. G.W. Burson officiating.
