1914 - 2006

Virginia Gay Harrison, 91, Gallipolis, Ohio, joined her husband, Lawrence, in their Heavenly home June 4, 2006, at the Rocksprings Rehabilitation Center, Pomeroy, Sunday, June 4, 2006.

She was born December 19, 1914, in Gallipolis, daughter of the late Lon H. Woolweaver and Lucy Johnson Woolweaver. She was reared in Huntington, WV., and was a graduate of Huntington High School.

After returning to Gallipolis, she married Lawrence Harrison, July 26, 1942. They moved to Athens during the 1950's where she was an aide at the Athens State Hospital. Soon after, they were blessed with Kathy, their only child. She and Lawrence returned to Gallipolis in 1990, and he preceded her in death, March 20, 2006.

Mrs. Harrison was a member of the Kenney Memorial Wesleyan Church, Athens, where she taught Sunday School for many years; and attended the First Church of the Nazarene Church, Gallipolis.

Surviving are:

Daughter, Kathy (Mike) Brown, Williamstown, WV.

Two Grandsons:

Ryan N. Brown

Michael Corey (Fiancé Michele Geissler) Brown

Great-Grandson:

Konnor G. Brown

Several Nieces and Nephews

She was preceded in death by:

One Brother: Lonnie M. Woolweaver

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM., Wednesday, at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, 420 First Ave., Gallipolis, with Rev. Eugene Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Street Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, 12:00 - 2:00 PM. Condolences can be emailed to www.timeformemory.com/mm.

Kathy, we had hoped to be able to get to the funeral and we were away when your Dad died. They were a wonderful couple. I remember your mom, when Joyce wore some wool knickers outfit, saying she had those when she was a girl and rode a horse. I remember they helped Joyce when she went to Brazil with YesCorps too. It's too bad she's been ill of late. Enjoy your children/grandchildren!

Dear Harrison family : again I send my deepest sympathy, so soon after the death of your Father , altho I understand Mrs. Harrison had been very ill for some time, she will be missed.I will tell my sister, Nina Dorton about her passing , she will be sad to hear the new's.
