Olive Ivy Swain, 88, Gallipolis, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2006, at

Arbors At Gallipolis. She was born September 14, 1918, in Gallia County,

Ohio, daughter of the late William E. and Arminta Wickline Day. She was a

homemaker.

Mrs. Swain was preceded in death by her husband, Cleatis Swain, on December

10, 1965. In addition she was preceded in death by six brothers, five

sisters, and one great-grandchild.

Surviving are:

One son and three daughters:

Cleatis Monvil (Monty) Swain Crown City, OH

Bonnie (Charles L.) Putney, Plumwood, OH

Katie (Leroy) McCoy, Bidwell, OH

Minta A. (Robert) Monchein, Grafton, OH

Sister: Chrystal Boggard, Toledo, OH

Seventeen grandchildren: Darren and Greg Hoffman, Debbie Putney, Dianne

Haskins, David Putney, Lori and Michael Swain, Sonya Cowles, Kari Bush, John

Putney, Connie Sievers, Russ Monchein, Lonnie McCoy, Ronnie McCoy, Johnny

McCoy, Tonia Burnett, and Donnie McCoy; numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great granchild.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, December 8, 2006 at the

McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, 420 First Ave., Gallipolis,

with Rev. Calvin Minnis officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgelawn

Cemetery, Mercerville, OH. Friends may call at the Funeral Home Thursday

from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Condolences can be emailed to

Was doing research on Adeline Brumfield's line and saw this obituary. Adeline was a sister to my grandmother, Timey Brumfield. Sorry to lose a family member, regardless of the distance on the family tree.
