1934 - 2026

Richard C. "Bob" Perdue, of Surfside Beach, SC, passed away May 17, 2026. He was born to parents George Richard and Gladys Rowsey Perdue in Huntington, WV on Dec. 22, 1934. Bob attended Saunders Elementary, Monroe Elementary, West Junior, and Huntington East High School, graduating in 1952. He furthered his education by graduating from Huntington East Trade School in 1953, receiving a certificate in Electrical training. His entire career was associated with the IBEW Local Union 317, serving an apprenticeship, achieving status of Journeyman, Master Electrician, and Co-Owner of Pritchard Electric Company, of which he served as Vice President until retirement in 1997. Bob married his first wife, Mary Frances Jarrell, in 1953 and together they raised six wonderful children: Connie, Rick, Ernie, Carolyn, Alan and David.

Preceding him in death are his wife Mary Frances in 2011, daughter Connie Maynard in 2023 and son Rick Perdue in 2024. Also preceding him were six brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife Sherry Lynn, of Surfside Beach, SC., three sons, Ernie and wife Penny of North Myrtle Beach; Alan and wife Helene of Frederick, MD; David of Winchester, VA; one daughter, Carolyn and husband Joe Powers of Huntington, WV; one son-in-law, Gary Maynard and one daughter-in-law, Tami Perdue; fifteen grandchildren and twenty eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Earl Ferguson, of New York City, NY.

Bob was a member of Jackson Avenue Church of God Holiness in Huntington, attended Crook Chapel Church in Huntington and recently was attending Chapel by the Sea Baptist Church in North Myrtle Beach.

No services are planned at this time. Bob will be buried at Susie Chapel Cemetery, Huntington, WV, at a date to be later determined. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.
