HAROLD BALLENGER
Mr. Harold John Ballenger, age 91 of 68 Dixon Road, Bowdon, Georgia, died Monday, September 5, 2005 in Pine Knoll Nursing and Rehab.
He was born in Carroll County, Georgia on February 22, 1914 the son of the late Charles and Lou Ella Kuglar Ballenger. Mr. Ballenger was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and was a retired Carpenter and Farmer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Frances Adams Ballenger; his second wife, Christine Dodson Ballenger; brothers, Weems Ballenger, Bernard Ballenger and Horry Ballenger; and a sister, Frances Thompson.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Becky Ballenger of Bowdon, GA. and Steve and Joan Ballenger of Carrollton, GA; daughter and son-in-law’ Shirley and Larry Cater of Bowdon, GA; grandsons, Shane Cater, Scott Cater, John Ballenger and Adam Ballenger; granddaughters, Sherry Smith, Dawn Freeman and Christi Teal; 8 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Fred Ballenger of Bowdon, GA.
Funeral services for Mr. Ballenger will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. from Shiloh United Methodist Church with Rev. Joseph Dye and Rev. Wayne Monroe officiating. Pianist will be Carol Windom. Pallbearers will be Charles Ballenger, Jimmy Ballenger, Robert Ballenger, James Littlefield, Shane Cater, Scott Cater, John Ballenger and Adam Ballenger. Interment will follow in Community Garden Cemetery. The body will be at the funeral home until being placed in state at the church at 1:00 P.M.
