Mrs. I. V. Wood age 91 of 121 Frances Street, Bowdon, Georgia died Sunday, October 2, 2005 in Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton.
She was born in Carroll County Georgia August 25, 1914 the daughter of the late Ivy Benton and Myrtice Nunnelley Sherrill. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Bowdon and was a retired School Teacher with the Carroll County Board of Education as a Cirriculum Director.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Dillard Wood, Sr.
Three sisters Mable Bonner, Bernice Spruill and Sara Joyce Sherrill.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-laws Dillard (Joan) Wood, Jr. of Bowdon, GA. Robert (Olga) Wood of Marietta, SC. Daughter and son-in-law Sara Joyce (Frank Milicki of Dallas, GA. 11 Grandchildren, 7 Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. from the Bowdon First United Methodist Church with Rev. Darnell Teal officiating. Music will be furnished by the church choir and Mrs. Gail Adams. Pallbearers were Joe Gary III, Robert Gary, Tommy Gary, Lee Gary, Richard Gary, Chad Wood, Tyler Wood and Nick Guerrero. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Rainwater Funeral Home of Bowdon, Georgia was in charge of the arrangements.
