Mrs. Pearlie Johnston age 98 of 1530 South Highway 100 Bowdon, Georgia died Wednesday November 2, 2005 at Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton.
She was born in Cleburne County Alabama September 15, 1907 the daughter of the late Irvin and Lizzie Hale Edwards. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church (Newell, Alabama) and was a retired employee from Sewell’s.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Orion John Johnston 2 sons John Johnston and Bobby Johnston and a daughter Jo Ann Toole.
Survivors include Two Sons in-daughters-in-laws Jerry (Kathy) Johnston of Bowdon, GA. and Ray (Joan) Johnston of Arlington, TX. Four daughters-in-sons-in-laws Mickey Bateman of Fayetteville, GA. Dess (W.H.) Russell of Lawrenceville, GA. Mary (Bob) Terrell of Cartersville, GA. and Janice (Tom) Kemp of Gretna, LA. 19 Grandchildren, 27 Great-Grandchildren and 7 Great-Great-Grandchildren. Two Brothers and sister-in-law Ewell Edwards of Bessemer, AL and Charles (Marveline) Edwards of Oxford, AL.
Funeral services will be held Friday November 4, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. (Georgia Time) from the Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Buddy Gentry and Charles Lorentz officiating. Pallbearers will be Tracy Terrell, Chad Terrell, Ricky Johnston, Jerome Johnston, Greg Johnston and Mark Johnston. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. She will be at the funeral home until being placed in state at the church at 1:00 P.M. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 4-8 P.M. (GA. Time)
