Mr. Henry Ervin Butler age 80 of 150 Cottage Landing died Thursday December 22, 2005.
He was born in Carroll County Georgia April 16, 1925 the son of the late William Ervin and Mattie McClendon Butler. He was a member of the Bowdon Baptist Church a Deacon Emeritus member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class retired from the United States Army serving in World War II and Korea and retired from Southwire Co.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Myrl Lucille Holloway Butler.3 sisters Herchel Butler, Herman Butler and Hood Butler. 4 sisters Anna Mae Baggett, Edna Whitman, Ethel Butler and June McClung.
Survivors include a son Renda Butler of Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela. 3 daughters and sons-in-laws Glenda (John) Smith, Dianne (Phillip) Robinson and Sue (Pat) Hannon all of Bowdon, GA. Brother Ralph Butler of Altamonte Springs, FL. Sister Ina Fay Archer of Bowdon, GA. Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday December 26, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. from the Bowdon Baptist Church with Dr. Ron Huggins officiating. Music will be furnished by Mr. George Cosper. The Fellowship Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Bowdon City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday December 25 from 5-8 P.M.
