Jacqueline C. Bias, 81, of Milton, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 20, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born on November 4, 1942 to the late James Edward Morris and Eloise Legg Morris. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant brother, James Edward Morris, Jr., her twin brothers, Garry Gideon Morris and Larry Charles Morris, niece Sheila Ann Morris Pugh and the love of her life, her husband of 52 years, Robert Kelly Bias. She is survived by her two daughters, Jacqueline Kelly Daniels (James E. “Jed”) of Milton, and Leslie Dianne Riedel, of Hurricane and the two grandchildren she loved more than anything else in the world, Katherine Elizabeth Mathis-Abshire (Zack) of Walton, WV and Phillip Andrew Riedel of Huntington, WV, sisters-in-law, Joyce Ann Morris of Huntington, WV, Elsie Bias of Myrtle Beach, SC, Shirley Wicker of Warrenton, VA, special nieces and nephews that she loved as her own children, Garry Edward Morris (Missy) of Russell, KY, Larry Karl “Bo” Morris (Dreama), Samantha Ann Morris, of Huntington, WV, and a host of other nieces and nephews including Mary Lee Woodall (Woody) of Culloden, WV, Charles H. “Chuck” Bias of Stephenson, VA, Michael Bias (Ralona) of Ironton, OH, Kathy Cook (Dave) of Parkersburg, WV, Kim Stoutamyer of Myrtle Beach, SC, Denise Moravitz (Brian) and Damond Wicker of Warrenton, VA, and special great-nephew and great-nieces, Ryan Karl Morris of Lavalette, WV, McKenah Eliot Morris of Russell, KY and Cassidy Bias of Radford, VA.
She was a proud graduate of Buffalo-Wayne High School Class of 1960. She began her working career as a telephone operator at C&P Telephone Company where she met the love of her life. After they married and began a family, she stayed home and raised her daughters and returned to work as an accounting clerk at Fox Industries that later became SuperValu where she retired from in 2002.
In 2011, Jackie fought a hard battle with breast cancer and won. In 2021, she began fighting ovarian cancer and fought until the end. Kelly and Leslie would like to thank Dr. Nadim Bou Zgheib and his team for the care given to their mother over the past 3 ½ years, as well as the entire staff of the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Oncology Unit. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. and funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Wallace Funeral Home in Milton, WV.
