Forrest Gene Burdette, 79, of Huntington, WV, unexpectedly passed away on May 21, 2026. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, May 29th at 11 a.m. at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville. Entombment will follow at Forest Memorial Park, Milton. Born on October 26, 1947 in Culloden, WV, a son of the late Carl Burdette and Jewel Edwards. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter Stephanie Burdette-Nicholas, wife Marsha Burdette, sister Leona Miller, brothers Boyd Burdette, Clifford Burdette, Davy Burdette, Robert Burdette, William Burdette, and parents-in-law Richard and Hazel Clay. He is survived by his brother Max (Joyce) Burdette of Columbus, OH, sisters-in-law Imogene Burdette of Hurricane and Ann Clay-Ford of Chesapeake, OH, sons Rob Burdette of Huntington and Steve (Monica) Burdette of Ringgold, GA, grandson Spencer (Tyranda) Nicholas of Huntington, granddaughter Riley Burdette of Ringgold, GA, and numerous family and friends. He will always be remembered as an avid supporter of athletics, cheering on Cabell Midland football, Marshall football, and Kentucky basketball.
